always behind

Unfortunately getting a new computer doesn't create any more hours in the day. So, I'm still not blogging as much as I planned, but hey, at least I haven't totally disappeared! A journalist friend of mine actually recommended I keep a blog to provide writing samples and keep me in the writing mode. So, I'm considering possible topics for a more structured blog. Maybe some day. Right now, here are the things on my long-term to-do list: write/submit a journal article from my thesis, organize our spare room, write a family history of my Dad's family, visit my great uncle more, find my niche for service at church, spend more fun time with Jordan, exercise regularly.

I did recently finish a food preservation class through OSU (that's Ore. State) Extension. I learned all kinds of useful information about canning and freezing fruits, vegetables and meat. I'm excited to put some of that to use this summer -- so hopefully I'll have some fun pictures to share.

Jordan and I took a quick trip to the beach recently, too and got some great pictures. It was the nicest weather I've ever seen on the Oregon coast, which was an added treat. I'll post some pics "soon" :)

It's nice to see you think of blogging every once in a while still. I am hoping that that good weather lasts for longer this time...I really enjoy being out in the sun. I would like to do some hiking this year, but we haven't managed to have time on the nicer weekends.

I hear ya - our summer has been sooooo hectic. We weren't expecting that, so we feel like we're spinning our wheels trying to keep up with regular life stuff, let alone having any fun :) One of my sisters and Jordan's sister got married this summer -- actually his sis's is on Saturday. So, once that's over, I'm hopeful things will be a little more manageable (hopefully)
