getting closer

It's hard to believe graduation is only six weeks away. In many ways I feel like I just got to OK State. Needless to say, life has been a little hectic with my thesis defense coming up on April 9 in addition to class and work. I am in the middle of analyzing the data I collected, and I am actually finding some interesting and sometimes surprising things. I'll spare you the details, but if you're interested -- look me up online in a few months. Hopefully the whole enchilada will be posted on OK State's library database at the least. I also submitted my first conference proposal last week. I better watch out or I'm going to turn into a real academician. Nobody wants to see that happen.

We are still waiting and waiting and waiting to hear from Ore. St. and Univ. of Wash. about Jordan's acceptance and assistantship options (if any) for grad school. We've gotten pretty used to the waiting game, but I think we are both ready to get more information and start making some decisions. I also need to get on the job hunt as soon as we make plans.

With everything else going on, I haven't been a very dedicated triathlete. So, hopefully this week I can get back to a regular exercise routine. I spend most of the day at the office, then usually come back in the evenings to work on thesis stuff, which doesn't leave a lot of extra time or energy for running/biking/swimming. The race is one month from today, though, so I better start finding some time!
