We're getting ready for the big move back to the Northwest. We plan to leave Stillwater sometime between Aug. 5 and 10. Between now and then we're pretty booked, so we're packing when we can, trying to get a headstart. We almost have our spare room packed (this is a MAJOR accomplishment, since that's where all the no-home-for-it junk is kept). I'm proud of Jordan; he's finally adopted the "we don't have to keep EVERYTHING" attitude.
We are taking advantage of our last few weeks in Stillwater, by leaving town. Last weekend we went to Robbers Cave State Park for the 4th of July. It was AWESOME. I'll have to post some pictures soon. This weekend we're going to SW Oklahoma with some friends, so that will complete our effort to see all four corners of the state (although J never did make it to the panhandle). After that it's back to work for 4 days, a couple days of packing, and then we're headed for Mexico! We are joining several people from the church here on a 10-day trip to Matamoros, which is just across the border from the southern tip of Texas. We'll be painting and doing stucco and helping with a VBS. When we get back from Mexico, I'm helping with a 2-day conference for work, and then we'll finish packing up the Focus and hit the road.
I am very excited to see our families, but it's pretty tough to think about leaving Stillwater. We will really miss all of our friends here. Since some of them are leaving before us, we've already started the final hang outs and good byes. Needless to say, J has been dealing with a lot of tears lately -- unfortunately, it probably won't stop until we cross those Cascade mountains and make our final descent into the great Willamette Valley.
